Kilanerin’s opponents revealed for upcoming Leinster Senior Club Championship game

The Wexford Senior Football Champions will be out in Leinster Championship action next weekend…

The Wexford Senior Football champions, Kilanerin-Ballyfad, have been drawn against Westmeath champions Na Dúnta in the quarter-finals of the AIB Leinster Club Senior Football Championship.

The fixture will take place on Sunday, November 15, at TEG Cusack Park in Mullingar, with throw-in scheduled for 1.30pm.

Kilanerin secured their place in the last eight following a dramatic 0-17 to 1-13 victory over Louth champions Newtown Blues at Chadwicks Wexford Park last weekend.

The Wexford champions looked set for extra time after Newtown Blues’ Ciarán Downey levelled the contest in added time. However, Seán Forde converted a late free to secure a memorable victory for Kilanerin and send them through to the provincial quarter-finals.

Their upcoming quarter-final opponents, Na Dúnta (The Downs GAA), also enjoyed a successful opening-round campaign, defeating Longford champions Clonguish by 2-17 to 1-18 to book their place in the last eight.

Having already come through a dramatic opening-round encounter, the Wexford champions will travel to Mullingar looking to maintain their momentum against a side that will be equally determined to progress.

A place in the Leinster semi-finals will be at stake when the two sides meet at TEG Cusack Park on Sunday, November 15.
