Another school in Wexford has confirmed a positive Covid-19 case…
Three schools across Wexford have now confirmed positive Covid-19 cases. The news comes after a national school in New Ross recently confirmed a positive case, which was followed by the Loreto Secondary School, based on Pembroke Street in Wexford town, then confirming that a student in their school also tested positive for coronavirus.
Now, it has emerged that Colaiste Bride are the latest school to confirm a positive Covid-19 case. Yesterday, the HSE issued a letter on behalf of Colaiste Bride in Enniscorthy to parents of fifth-year students in the all-girls school.
“A public health risk assessment has been undertaken and the parents of any children deemed to be close contacts of the confirmed case have been contacted and advised accordingly. Household contacts, such as parents and siblings, of close contacts who have no relevant symptoms are not usually asked to restrict their movements,” the HSE letter read.
Close contacts have been identified and students who have symptoms are encouraged to contact their GP and not to attend school.
We must remember that this virus still exists in our society; we should continue washing our hands frequently, continue to social distance where possible, wear our masks.
We also should note this virus will be here for a while yet, but it’s important not to stigmatise Covid-19, people with the virus, or schools or business, that are constantly dealing with — and trying to operate as usual — despite the virus’ existence.

My daughter goes to Colaiste Bride in enniscorthy..I understand our children need there education. But the schools need closing again. Let the children do there lessons online.. safety for the pupils and teachers.
