A positive Covid-19 case has been confirmed in Gorey Community School.
An email, which was sent out to parents by the school’s principal Michael Finn on Wednesday 30 September, confirmed that there had been a positive case within the school community.
Attached to the email included a letter from the HSE, noting that all close contacts have since been notified. The HSE letter stated that they have carried out a risk-assessment.
Wexford’s largest school will continue to operate, but should students have symptoms, it is important that they do not attend school. Instead, they should restrict their movements and they should contact their GP.
Again, it’s important to reiterate that we should not stigmatise schools or businesses that have a positive Covid-19 case. These are unprecedented times and both schools and businesses are doing their best to operate and to continue on as normal.
