Watch: 17-year old scores for Wexford FC in first round of FAI Cup

Wexford FC are through to the next round of the Sports Direct FAI Cup…

Wexford defeated Cork side, Avondale United, 3-0 at home in Ferrycarrig yesterday evening.

One of the major talking points from the match was Wexford’s first goal from the penalty spot. The referee alleged that the Avondale keeper had taken down the Wexford attacker, but the Avondale players were incensed over it, believing him to get the ball first. Wexford’s Ethan Boyle then stepped up and slotted the ball calmly into Avondale’s net.

Another talking point was Wexford’s third goal, which saw 17-year-old Eoin Kenny clinically finish the ball to the net for the second game in a row.
