Host of Wexford representatives to take part in Hurling for Cancer match

A host of Wexford representatives will take place in the Hurling for Cancer game….

The Hurling for Cancer charity hurling match is the brainchild of Wexford native Jim Bolger and jockey Davy Russell.

To date, over 1.3 million euro has been raised for The Irish Cancer Society.

The charity hurling game takes place this evening, 21 August, at 6pm in Dr Cullen Park in Carlow.

There are a host of Wexford people representing the county at the charity hurling match, with managers Liam Griffin and Brian Cody recently naming their sides.

For Davy Russell’s side managed by Brian Cody, Jamie Codd, Jack O’Connor, Mikey Fogarty, Lee Chin, and Rory O’Connor will start the match. Meanwhile, Liam Og McGovern, Kevin Foley, Johnny Fogarty, Conor McDonald, Sean Flanagan, John Cullen and Bertie Flynn have been named on the bench.

For Jim Bolger’s side managed by former Wexford manager Liam Griffin, Damien Fitzhenry, Martin Storey, Damien Reck, Shane Reck, Larry O’Gorman, and Paul Scott have been named on the panel. Dave Bernie has also been named as a selector for the team.

On the night, Declan Barron Hurleys will selling hurls and donating €5 to The Irish Cancer Society from every hurl purchased on the night.

Tickets can be purchased on the gate, with all proceeds going to the Irish Cancer Society Ireland. Those wishing to donate can donate at the following link.
