Wexford natives win awards from their colleges for academic achievements

Two Wexford students won awards from their respective colleges recently…

Michelle Dunne from Gorey was the winner of one such award for her academic achievements.

A Dr HH Stewart Medical Prize in Ophthalmology was awarded to Michelle Dunne, former Gorey Community School student, who studied Medicine in NUIG.

These prizes are awarded to the highest performing final year students in the respective Medical and Health Sciences disciplines across the NUI federal university system.

Meanwhile, The College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE), Enniskillen Campus celebrated the achievements of equine and farriery students at a ceremony at Enniskillen Campus on Friday 13 October 2023.

At the ceremony the special achievements of the students were recognised, including Higher Education, Farrier Upskilling, Level 2 and Level 3 1st4sport, OCN Level 3 students and Level 2 and Level 3 Apprentices.

One Wexford native, Damien Moran from New Ross,in Co Wexford was presented with the Forging Cup by Mr Paul Duddy.
