Keith Rossiter’s first game in charge of Wexford Senior hurlers to come before the Walsh Cup

Wexford GAA have revealed that both the Wexford Senior Hurlers and the Wexford Senior Footballers will take on the Wexford SHC Team of the Year in challenge games…

The Glen Fuels Hurling and Football Teams of the Year will be announced in the coming weeks.

At a Coiste Bainistí Meeting held on 30 November 2023, it was revealed that supporters will get a chance to see their favourite players in action ahead of the county team’s first games in the Walsh Cup and the O’Byrne cup pre-season competitions.

The Glen Fuels Hurling Team of the Year will face a Wexford selection on Monday, 1 January 2024 in Páirc Uí Síocháin in Gorey.

It will be Keith Rossiter’s first game in charge as he starts his campaign, after replacing Darragh Egan as the new Wexford Senior hurling boss.

Proceeds from the game will be go towards the Senior Hurling Team Training Fund with a percentage to also go to Naomh Éanna GAA Club.

Meanwhile, the Glen Fuels Football Team of the Year will face a Wexford selection on Friday, 29 December in the home of the County Football Champions, Hollymount. Proceeds from the game will be go towards the Senior Football Team Training Fund with a percentage to also go to Shelmalier GAA Club.

Speaking about the upcoming event, they said:

“We hope that these games will provide some enjoyment for all our GAA fans over the course of the festive period. These games will be all ticket with tickets to be released next week, making an excellent stocking filler for the fan in your life. There will be a nominal charge for children U16 so as to be able to manage potential attendances at both venues.”

In related news, the fixtures for both the 2024 Walsh Cup and the 2024 O’Byrne Cup have been confirmed.
