
The Wexford Gaelic football player of the year and the young player of the year recipients were revealed today…
The nominations for the 2023 footballer of the year were: Eoghan Nolan (Shelmaliers), Páraic Hughes (Kilanerin) and Gavin Sheehan (Gusserane).
Meanwhile, the Young Footballer of the Year nominees were Rian Fitzpatrick (Naomh Éanna), Jack Higgins (Castletown) and Cian Hughes (Kilanerin).
At a challenge game at Hollymount tonight between the Wexford Club Team of the Year versus a selection of John Hegarty’s Senior footballers, the awards were handed out.
Eoghan Nolan from the Shelmaliers club was crowned the Glen Fuels Wexford Footballer of the Year. Meanwhile, Cian Hughes of Kilanerin/Ballyfad was awarded with the Young Player of the Year award.
In related news, the Wexford Hurling team of the year will take on a selection of Keith Rossiter’s Wexford Senior hurlers on New Years Day in Gorey. On the day, the hurler of the year and Wexford’s young hurler of the year will also be revealed.
