Gorey Rangers learn their opponents for FAI Junior Cup quarter-final

Gorey Rangers are through to the last eight of the FAI Junior Cup…

Over the weekend, at Ramstown, Gorey Rangers defeated Tallagh United on score-line of 6-1. Gorey Rangers’ goals came from Conor Casserly, an O.G, Luke Greene, Nathan Brennan, Dylan Vickers, and midfielder Stephen Kinsella.

The draws for the quarter-finals of the FAI Junior Cup took place on Sunday afternoon.

Gorey Rangers’ win has set up a quarter-final clash with Tipperary’s Peake Villa, who are based in Thurles.

Some even better news for the Gorey side is the fact that it will be another home clash, having been drawn out of the hat first.

A win for Gorey Rangers in the quarter-final against Peake Villa will set up another home clash in the semi-final, where they’ll face either Villa FC or St Michaels AFC.

In last year’s competition, Gorey Rangers went on an excellent run too, only losing out in the semi-final stages. It was also a year when they were crowned Wexford Premier Division champions for the first time in their club’s history.

The Gorey town side are the only remaining Wexford-based side left in the competition.
