Former Wexford hurler laments ‘huge loss’ of Lee Chin due to injury

Wexford hurler Lee Chin was forced off early in the game against Clare last weekend…

Faythe Harriers player and Wexford captain, Lee Chin, hobbled off with a hamstring injury in Wexford’s draw with Clare in the Allianz Hurling League over the weekend.

Before hobbling off on the 26th minute mark, Chin scored all three of Wexford’s points and he was immense.

Speaking to The Wexford Hurling Podcast, Chin’s club-mate, Richie Kehoe, spoke about the importance of having Lee Chin on the Wexford team and provided an injury update:

“Chin’s is a hamstring injury. He’ll probably be out for about three or four weeks at least I’d say anyway. I don’t know about Kevin or any of the rest of them. Chin is a huge loss; he’s such a leader. His leadership qualities are unbelievable.”

“When he’s on the ball, everyone’s looking up to him. He’s bringing lads into play, he’s able to get his own scores. He’s a serious outlet on the puck-outs. He’s probably our best ball winner in the forwards. Without him, he’s a huge loss. We have to have him,” Richie Kehoe said.

Wexford will be chasing a win against Waterford in their next game in the Allianz Hurling League. The top three will remain in Division 1A of the Allianz Hurling League next year with the restructuring of the League taking place next season.
