Gorey Rangers captain insists that they are quietly confident ahead of FAI Junior Cup final

The town is buzzing and Gorey Rangers are just 90 minutes away from All-Ireland glory…

They will take on Cockhill Celtic in the FAI Junior Cup final on Sunday May 5th.

With a historic FAI Junior Cup final against Cockhill Celtic around the corner for Gorey Rangers, we recently got the thoughts of the Gorey Rangers manager, Willie Peare. From the interview, it was clear that Peare is excited for the clash and didn’t care too much for being tipped as big underdogs for the match.

The Gorey Rangers captain, Gavin O’Brien, has also shared his excitement for the game in a recent interview with Final Whistle.

“I suppose we are quietly confident. We are the underdogs going into the game, but we’ve been the underdogs for the last the four rounds I think. Now we just have to go out and do our jobs and play the way we normally play and hopefully that’s enough,” O’Brien said.

The FAI Junior Cup final will kick off at 2pm on Sunday May 5th. It will be played in Eamonn Deacy Park in Galway.

For those not attending the game, there will be a free live stream of the FAI Junior Cup final which is available here.
