The Wexford’s Best campaign for 2024 is officially back…
Over the course of the last week, we ran a poll on our Facebook page to find out Wexford’s best pub for 2024. Over 1,200 people voted in the free social media poll. All they had to do was to write the name of their favourite pub in the comments section underneath the original post. The comments were then exported and counted. Here are the results – as voted by you!
10 – Swan Bar
In the 2023 poll, the Swan Bar came in second place of Wexford’s Best Pubs. This time, they’ve just about managed to scrape 10th place. It’s nothing to be sniffed at though, given the number of pubs in Wexford. Here, you’ll find a lovely big beer garden for all to enjoy in the great weather. Sporting action is also on the tv’s around the pub, with live entertainment and music blaring on the weekends.

9 – Micko’s Bar, Taghmon
It’s the first time that Micko’s Bar has made it onto a Wexford Weekly list, but I’m sure they’ll be hoping it won’t be their last. It’s a traditional Irish pub, with darts, a pool table, and skittles competitions taking place here regularly if you’re any way competitive. They’re a real community pub too; just last month, they ran a fundraiser for MS South Wexford by hosting a darts event where Andy Hamilton and Tony O’Shea came to play locals in a competition.
8 – Rackard’s of Caim
Rackard’s is a local Wexford pub in the village of Caim, near Enniscorthy. The bar & lounge is open Wed-Sun from 8pm to closing, and Sunday’s from 3pm. With the sunny weather, their beer garden and picnic tables in the sun-trapped back garden is a must.

7 – Culleton’s of Kilrane
Culleton’s of Kilrane is another traditional Irish Pub ideally located in the heart of Kilrane, which is only moments away from the port in Rosslare. It’s the perfect spot for a few drinks or to grab a bite to eat with family or friends. They have a lovely food menu which is worth trying out if you’re in the area. If you’re after something more lively, then you should stick around and enjoy the live music here at the weekends.

6 – Foley’s of Newbawn
It’s not the first time that Foley’s of Newbawn has made it onto a list like this. Back in 2021, they were also voted into the top 10, taking the number two spot back then and last year, they were placed in 7th place. This time, they’ve done one better, coming in 6th place. It shows that they have continued to do the right things and that their customers really do value this pub. They have a traditional interior, and a large beer garden for all to sit back and soak in the weather and the pints or some tasty cocktails.

5 – Conran’s Bar, Rathnure
Conran’s Bar is located in the Rathnure area of Wexford. They’re a traditional Irish pub and the pub is an absolute hit with the locals. The drink of choice here is their lovely Guinness which is hard bet. Conran’s bar area also a big supporters of the local community, sponsoring the GAA teams and soccer teams. Despite being a real tight-knit community pub, everyone is welcome here to enjoy a few drinks.
4 – Jack’s Tavern
Jack’s Tavern is located in the village of Camolin in North Wexford. Again, it’s not the first time that they’ve made it onto a list like this. Their premises has become a hive for quality entertainment, where they have excellent live music and bands playing every weekend. Their outdoor beer garden has become craic central and an excellent choice for people in the surrounding areas. It’s the type of place where you could go at 1pm, eat some of their amazing food, and not leave until midnight. They have everything you need there.

3- Dempsey’s The Street
The Street is a complete newcomer to these lists. Since their creation in 2021, they haven’t made it onto the list – but they must have done something right in 2024 because their premises received 82 votes. This traditional Irish pub is nestled in the centre of the small village of Monamolin, but it’s always a hive of activity. The small bar oozes craic, with stories galore from the friendly locals. Often, you’ll see people enjoying a few beers on the benches and playing ‘Skittles’ outside of the premises.

2- Quigley’s Bar
In second place is no stranger to these lists. It’s Quigley’s Bar in Kilmore. They received 137 individual votes underneath the post. They are a real community pub. They have live music here every weekend, while their darts board seems to be getting a lot of use lately too! If you want to enjoy a traditional Irish pub, nestled in the heart of a small village in South Wexford, it’s hard to find one better than Quigley’s.

1- White House Bar
Topping the list as Wexford’s best pub for 2024 is the White House Bar in Enniscorthy. They received 179 individual votes on the Wexford Weekly poll, almost 15% of the overall votes underneath the post. With live entertainment, drinks specials, and a promotion of sports, this is a bar that’s doing everything right. One user commented that “this is an excellent bar – lots of friendly staff, great fun, my number one.” It’s clear that it wasn’t just this person’s number one though and that many people felt the same way. Well done to The White House Bar – Wexford’s Best pub for 2024!
