A young Wexford girl has been handed a great honour…
Irish team selection has been confirmed for 16 year old athlete Kara Morrissey from Enniscorthy.
Kara will represent her school, the Presentation College in Wexford and the Irish Schools International Track & Field Team 2024.
The SIAB International rotates around the four competing nations and 2024 is Wales’ turn to host the competition held between England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales later this month, on the 20th July. The venue for this year’s event is Carmarthen Athletics track.
The Irish Schools Athletic association have selected a strong team of over 80 athletes from the 4 provinces.
They will be hoping to do even better than last year’s meeting in Scotland which saw the Irish squad secure a total of 24 medals, claiming second place medal table finish behind England .
