A club in the North of Wexford won €5,000 recently…
The club, Craanford GAA Club in North Wexford, won €5,000 after winning a national competition.
The competition was sponsored by Eir and it was called ‘Poc Tapa’ which was open to all GAA clubs nationwide. Players stood in different areas around the perimeter of the field. The players had to pick out their team-mates and get the ball around the pitch in the quickest time possible in a bid to win €5,000 for their club.
Craanford actually defeated another North Wexford club, local rivals Tara Rocks, in the final of the competition, which was held in Croke Park on the day of the All-Ireland hurling semi-final between Kilkenny and Clare.
Tara Rocks got the ball around the pitch in 50 seconds, while Craanford were able to win the competition with a score of 35 seconds on the big day.
A video of the ‘final’ of the Eir Poc Tapa was then produced and shared on social media.
