Another step has been taken in the right direction…
Planning has been approved for a multi-purpose sports complex in Gorey.
The site is on St Walerans Demesne, on the outskirts of Gorey which sits on a 12-acre site.
The proposed sports complex to include community sports building with indoor courts; outdoor cricket field, athletics track and hockey pitch; access arrangements including cycle paths, footpaths, 94no. parking spaces, temporary access roadway, landscaping and ancillary site development works.
As per an update from Wexford Councillor, Fionntán Ó Súilleabháin, it’s a step in the right direction, but Wexford County Council are still awaiting a decision on their grant approval which will speer-head the project while consultation is still ongoing.
“We’re still awaiting result from grant application to ‘Largescale Sports Infrastructure Fund’. Anyone wanting more info, or to view plans, can do so on Wexford County Council’s planning section. You can make observations/suggestions up to next Friday 26th July,” he said.
You can view the files and application on Wexford County Council’s website here by searching ‘Walerans’.
