Two young Wexford footballers called up into Republic of Ireland squads

Two young Wexford footballers have been called up into the Republic of Ireland squad in their respective age groups…

Oisin McDonagh, who only recently made his move over and signed a two-year deal with Italian outfit Venezia FC, has been called up into the Republic of Ireland U-17 squad for their upcoming games.

McDonagh’s call up to the U-17 squad tops of an excellent few weeks for him and there’s no doubt that the Glynn native, and now former Wexford FC academy player, has a bright future ahead in the world of football.

The good Wexford news doesn’t stop there though.

Kaylem Harnett, who has been excelling at centre-mid competing with Wexford FC in the League of Ireland First Division, has also received a call-up to the Republic of Ireland U-19 squad. He has been listed in the defenders for the Men’s U-19 squad, regularly competing at underage for Ireland at the full-back position.

The Republic of Ireland U-19 squad will take on France, Kazakhstan and Slovenia. These matches are set to take place on September 5th, September 7th, and September 10th respectively.
