Watch: 42-year old scores cracking point in Wexford Junior B Hurling final

A 43-year-old is still doing the business in Wexford….

Frank Boggan, who turns 43 next month, scored a cracking point in the Wexford Junior B Hurling final over the weekend in a game which took place in St Patrick’s Park in Enniscorthy.

It was a game which seen Askamore/Kilrush overcome Gorey town side Naomh Eanna in the Junior B Hurling final, winning on a score-line of 2-09 to -0-12.

It was described as one of the “finest points you’d see in any final,” while it was noted that his point was ably assisted by 45 year old Colm Buttle.

As can be seen from the video below, Boggan got hold of the ball while on the side-line. He was stopped in his tracks by the Naomh Eanna defence, but over his shoulder and without looking at the goalposts, he was able to get a shot away to score a wonder point for his club – the last point of the match.

It was Askamore’s first time in their club’s history winning the Wexford Junior B title.

Interestingly, it’s not the first time that an Askamore club-man produced the magic against Naomh Eanna in a final. Just last month, a video went viral after an Askamore minor hurler scored an outrageous point in their dominant win over Naomh Eanna in their respective minor final.
