A highly-rated Wexford footballer is being eyed up by a Premier League side…
Premier Football League side in England, Brentford, have their eyes on a Wexford native and they are set to approach him to transfer as the January transfer window looms.
According to a recent report in the Irish Mirror, Kaylem Harnett will be undergoing a week-long trial at Brentford on December 11th.
Kaylem Harnett, who plays his football with Wexford FC, is just 17 years of age and he was named the Ireland Under-15 Player of the Year in 2022.
Even though he is just 17, he became a regular feature on the Wexford FC team sheet, playing 30 games for the Men’s first-team and bagging four goals in the process. One of those goals occurred after just 17 seconds after he was brought on from the bench against Treaty United in Limerick.
It would be a huge coup for Wexford FC and for Harnett. Although his presence would be a huge loss for Wexford FC, a move to a Premier League side is a dream.
He worked his way up from the Wexford FC academy. It wouldn’t be the first Wexford FC transfer that happen this year either, after a young Wexford FC player secured a transfer to Italy earlier this year.
