Former Wexford Senior hurler, and former St Martins clubman, Eoin Quigley, has helped to guide his club team – the Sarsfields – to a Munster Senior hurling title.
Taking place at Semple Stadium, the Sarsfields defeated the dominant Ballygunner of Waterford on a score-line of 3-20 to 2-19. Shane O’Regan – the super sub – gained the headlines for Sars after coming on in the 45th minute mark before scoring 2-03.
It was a historic day for the Sarsfields, capturing their first Munster Senior hurling title.
Wexford man Quigley acted as one of the selectors for Jonny Crowley’s management team. He acted alongside Diarmuid O’Sullivan, Joe Barry, and Darren Kenneally.
The Cork and Munster champions Sarsfields will be in action against Slaughtneil of Derry in the All-Ireland semi-final in Newbridge on Sunday, December 15th at 1.30p.m.
