Two Wexford natives nominated for Black and Irish awards

Two Wexford natives have been nominated for ‘Black and Irish’ awards…

Two proud Wexford natives, Mick Abidoye, owner of Created in Éire, and Festy Ebosele, Irish international footballer, have been nominated for the prestigious 2024 Black and Irish Awards.

Mick Abidoye has been nominated for Community Person of the Year, while his business, Created in Éire, has earned a nomination for Community Organisation of the Year.

Meanwhile, Festy Ebosele has been recognised for his stellar performance on the pitch, securing a nomination for Male Sportsman of the Year, alongside his Irish teammate Chiedozie Ogbene.

Mick Abidoye is no stranger to the awards, having previously won in two out of three years—making him one of the few individuals to win multiple accolades. In 2021, Created in Éire was honored as Platform of the Year, and in 2022, Mick was named Community Person of the Year. Despite narrowly missing out in 2023, Mick is aiming to make history this year as the first individual to win three awards in a single year.

This year, Mick has continued his impactful work in the community, organizing successful charity boxing and football events that have raised significant funds for meaningful causes.

Meanwhile, Festy Ebosele’s nomination comes on the heels of a breakthrough season with the Irish team, where he made a significant impact both domestically and internationally. His accomplishments on and off the field have earned him widespread recognition as a rising star in Irish sports.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to both Mick Abidoye and Festy Ebosele as they represent Wexford at the 2024 Black and Irish Awards.
