It really is the most wonderful time of the year…
Although the cold and dark nights are upon us in Wexford, one local business in Wexford is keeping the Festive spirits high.
The Transport Café, located on the Arklow Road north of Gorey, have decided to give back to their local community this Christmas time.
Leading up to Christmas Day, they will be doing the 12 Days of Christmas. As part of their 12 days of Christmas, they will be giving back €100 each day to someone in need.
Writing in a Facebook post, the owners of the popular Gorey café said:
“This year, we have decided to do 12 days of Christmas. Each day, we will give a gift to the value of €100 to anyone you think deserves it. Either a family struggling, voucher for shopping or maybe a few bags of sticks and coal, maybe someone you know that needs a new pair of shoes, a nice Christmas meal or a hot chocolate for the family. Maybe you just need your hair done. Anyone you think is deserving of this please dm us your nomination we will keep it confidential. Sometimes something small can make a big difference. Sending a hug from all at the transport café. Merry Christmas,” they said.
It’s a selfless and thoughtful gesture that will go along way for a person or a family struggling at Christmas time.
The business, already a hit with locals in Gorey, has been applauded online, with 85 comments underneath their post praising their gesture with one user commenting:
“That’s what Christmas is about. The gift of giving. What a wonderful thing to do.”
