Over 2,000 people attend Santa Truck arrival in Wexford

The Santa Truck arrived in Wexford yesterday…

It arrived in the village of Kilmuckridge, County Wexford, at 4:30pm.

It has been estimated that over 2,000 people attended the arrival of the Santa Truck in the Wexford village.

Along side the Santa Truck, a number of Christmas stalls were set up, proving a hit by creating an even bigger Festive spirit in the community.

Mary Farrell, who is an independent County Councillor in the Gorey-Kilmuckridge area, said:

Another magical evening as Kilmuckridge welcomed nearly 2000 people to enjoy the Santa Truck in aid of Laura Lynn charity for sick children.

The excitement was infectious as kids waited their turn to see Santa and Mrs Claus.

Bringing this truck to our village is a huge undertaking and thanks must go to Sean P Furlong and his team of volunteers who set up, cleared up, manned the event , crowd and traffic management and ensured everyone was safe.

“To the sponsors and supporters of the truck, the Honda 50 club, Sean Murphy and all who escorted Santa into the village. Frances Harney for cutting back all the hedging, an Garda Siochana for their support, Joe and Bridie Hammel for the tea station, Centra, Spar and Bella Napoli, Monamolin Kilmuckridge Ceoltas for the music, John and Mag Hearne for the mulled wine, Gary Doyle for sorting out my sound glitch and at the risk of forgetting someone we now thank you all for your help,” she said.

The Santa Truck which is a non-profit organisation and supports the Laura Lynn Foundation. LauraLynn is Ireland’s only children’s hospice supporting children living with life-limiting conditions from all across Ireland.

The Santa Truck has been visiting towns and villages across Ireland. To date, they have raised over €34,000 for the LauraLynn charity.
