Wexford FC sign Republic of Ireland international player

It’s great news for Wexford FC…

Wexford FC have signed a Republic of Ireland international ahead of the new season.

The Wexford FC women’s team have re-signed Republic of Ireland international, Ellen Molloy, who was on loan with Sheffield United.

On Friday it was confirmed the Kilkenny woman had ended her four-month spell at Sheffield United to return home.

20-year old Molloy returned to Ireland “for personal reasons” after the English club agreed to a “mutual termination” of the midfielder’s contract

She joined the Blades from Wexford last September but has made a swift return in what is a major boost to new boss Sean Byrne and Wexford FC ahead of the season.

Her re-signing will be a major boost to Wexford FC, who will hope to do better than last season after they finished fourth in the League and 16 points of eventual winners Athlone Town.
