It’s some good news for Wexford GAA fans…
The Leinster Council have confirmed that there will be a €10 deduction in ticket prices for Wexford’s opening Leinster Championship game.
This relates to the Wexford Senior footballers in the opening round of the Leinster Senior Football Championship.
Adult tickets were originally priced at €25, but they will now cost €15 for adults.
The Wexford Senior footballers have three remaining games in the Allianz Football League. They will take on Tipperary, Longford – and then an Allianz League final.
One week after the Allianz League final, John Hegarty’s Wexford Senior football team will take on Laois in the opening round of the Leinster Football Championship.
The Wexford vs Laois clash will take place in Wexford Park on Saturday April 5th, with throw-in pencilled in for 6 p.m. The winners will play Louth in the quarter-finals on Sunday April 13, at either St. Conleth’s Park (Newbridge) or Netwatch Cullen Park (Carlow).
The reduction in ticket cost will no doubt benefit the game. With more affordable costs, we can expect a larger crowd in Wexford Park to support the footballers. During a time when they’re building momentum after gaining promotion, it’s a perfect time for this to happen.
The ticket reduction may be in place for the Leinster quarter-final too, but that is yet to be confirmed by the Leinster Council.
