Wexford GAA have agreed a lucrative three-year streaming deal with GAA streaming platform, Clubber TV…
The new partnership between Wexford GAA and Clubber TV was announced on Tuesday March 18th, with Clubber TV announcing the “successful acquisition of exclusive media rights for Wexford GAA.” The exciting partnership grants Clubber TV the opportunity to broadcast the Wexford GAA Championship for the upcoming three seasons.
Clubber TV will now be the official broadcaster of the Wexford GAA Hurling and Football Championships.
It follows a similar three-year partnership announced by Cork GAA and Clubber TV, which the Irish Examiner reported to be worth a lucrative €500,000 to the Cork County Board at the time.
With this partnership, fans everywhere will get exclusive access to live matches, so you won’t miss a moment of the action. Known for their innovative, fan-first approach to sports broadcasting, they’re excited to bring you the best coverage possible.
This means sports fans can watch Wexford Club Championship games, along with all other Clubber counties – Tipperary, Kerry, Cork, Waterford, Longford, Louth, Laois, Kilkenny, Offaly, Monaghan, Kildare, Meath, Leinster and Munster Championships & more coming soon via PPV, Week Pass or Annual Pass for only €149.99.
In a statement, Jimmy Doyle, Clubber TV CEO, expressed:
“We’re absolutely thrilled to team up with Wexford GAA, adding another fantastic championship to our growing lineup of hurling and football on Clubber TV. The Wexford Championship is one of the best club competitions out there, and we can’t wait to bring the excitement to fans both at home and around the world. This partnership means GAA supporters everywhere can tune in to watch top-tier Wexford Championship action. And the best part? If you’re a Clubber subscriber, you get access to all these Wexford games at no extra cost.”
Over the past number of years, Wexford GAA TV offered excellent coverage of the Wexford GAA club championships. Clubber TV will now replace Wexford GAA TV, which was ran by the Wexford County Board through a revenue-sharing model. However, from reading the statement below, it appears that the personnel involved with Wexford GAA TV will continue in some of their roles with Clubber TV. The likes of Ed Rowsome, Peter Mernagh, and Liam Spratt are likely to be still involved in some part of the commentary set-up.
New Wexford GAA chairman, John Kenny, said:
“We too are excited about our new partnership with Clubber TV. Clubber are well-known for their comprehensive coverage of matches from right across the country. Their €149.99 Annual Pass represents great value for all Wexford GAA supporters, as it means they will be able to watch games from several other counties and provincial U17 and U20 championships, as well as from our own club championships later this year.
“We acknowledge and appreciate the great work done by Wexford GAA TV since streaming started in earnest during the Covid lockdowns. We are happy to announce that Clubber TV will use largely the same personnel as Wexford GAA TV, as well as providing the same comprehensive coverage of both hurling and football championships and producing other special features too. Overall, we believe this to be a great partnership for all concerned, and we are very much looking forward to it taking effect when our club championships commence.”
