Wexford win Oscar Traynor Cup and crowned All-Ireland champions

It was an excellent weekend for those involved in Wexford football…

The Wexford Football League’s Oscar Traynor Cup side travelled to Limerick to take on Limerick District Football League in the All-Ireland final on Sunday.

A goal, courtesy of North End player Gary Delaney, in extra-time was enough to seal a famous victory for the Wexford side which ended 1-0 in their favour.

The Willie Peare managed side etched their names in history on Sunday.

It’s just the second time in the history that Wexford have won the Oscar Traynor Cup, with their previous win coming fifteen years ago in 2010 under the stewardship of Wexford’s John Godkin.
