
A man was arrested for going a crazy speed in Wexford on Friday morning…
An Garda Síochána in Wexford caught one motorist driving dangerously on the New Ross bypass on Friday morning.
The driver was clocked driving 166km/h in a 100km/h zone.
“This morning during our bank holiday roads policing operation, Gardaí attached to the Wexford Roads Policing Unit detected this vehicle travelling on the New Ross Bypass at 166km/h from over 782 metres away, using top of the range speed detection equipment,” a Garda spokesperson said.
The vehicle, seen in the overtaking lane of this image was detected travelling 66km/h over the speed limit.

The driver was subsequently arrested on the scene and has since been charged.
In related news, a new static speed camera which was installed in North Wexford in December 2024 is now in operation from today onwards.
The new static speed camera is located in the Aske area of North Wexford, heading Northbound as drivers move on towards the M11 motorway.
