A former Tipperary manager had high praise for one Wexford player…

Former Tipperary manager, Liam Sheedy, singled out one Wexford player in his post-match coverage on RTE’s The Sunday Game.

Speaking on the Wexford-Kilkenny match, Sheedy had high praise for Wexford captain and talisman, Lee Chin, who ended his 2025 Leinster Championship campaign with a personal tally of 3-56. In the last match against Kilkenny, the Faythe Harriers clubman slotted seven points over the bar from play, scoring 1-13 overall out of Wexford’s 2-19.

“When you look at Lee Chin’s performances in this championship in the five games, 3-56. His striking off left and right really is impeccable. He’s such a big player for them and for me he’s one of the players of the championship so far. He’s just a pleasure to watch and it’s hard to pass Eoin Murphy but look at that for a finish that is literally top drawer.

“He’s like a guy that has a really free spirit, he’s a brilliant striker, he’s so strong and he’s got a real physical presence he can win his own ball. To me, he’s one of the best I think that Wexford has ever produced and I have huge admiration for him. It’s a pity to see a guy like Lee Chin not going to be hurling beyond May but he treated us to some fabulous performances throughout the Leinster championship this year,” Sheedy said.

Even though Wexford defeated Kilkenny, it was bittersweet win for the Yellowbellies, who are now out of the Championship, having lost to both Dublin and Galway along the way.
