3 – Thatch Bar

The Thatch Bar is located in the historic village of Ferns. Known for their history – with the King once living there – they’re also known for their mighty craic and welcoming nature. One of the best places to head out in Ferns for a few pints is the Thatch Bar beer garden. This must be one of the most pictureqcue beer gardens in all of Wexford too, with castle ruins overlooking their beer garden.

2 – Browne’s Bar

Browne’s Bar is located at the top of Gorey’s Main street on the corner. Browne’s Bar is a traditional pub steeped in history. Over the last two years, new ownership took over the historic pub. Despite the new owners, they’ve kept the traditional aspect of the pub – even though they renovated both the interior and exterior of the bar. One of their recent renovations was their beer garden. The beer garden – in the suntrapped area of Gorey town – is hard to beat along with one of their now-famous pints of creamy Guinness.

On rainy days, they also place a shelter over their beer garden – making this a beer garden that can be used all-year round, something that is important in Ireland with adverse weather conditions.
