Both Wexford fans and fans of hurling in general will be delighted to hear this news…
Wexford’s sharp-shooter, Lee Chin, has committed to the Wexford inter-county scene for another year at least.
The Faythe Harriers clubman, who was suspended for the first round of the Wexford Senior hurling championship, revealed his intentions to stay on for at least one more year with the Yellowbellies in a recent interview with GAA.ie.
Speaking on the matter, Lee Chin said:
“I’m actually here looking out at a golf course and a few lads putting on a green across from me, that looks very appetising as well. But look, I do plan to go back next year, yes. At this stage of my career, I’ll just take it year by year. I was happy with how this year went for me, how the body was and how the mind was,” he told GAA.ie.
The Wexford town man has been somewhat plagued by injuries during the latter end of his playing career, however, in 2025, he went injury-free – and was once again, Wexford’s talisman and leader in the attack.
The Wexford attacker will turn 33 in October, but he’s still considered one of the best hurlers not just in Wexford but across all of Ireland.
Wexford last won the Lenister title back in 2019 – when Chin co-captained the team with Matthew O’Hanlon – and bringing back Leinster title silveware is something that both Chin and the Wexford team will have their eyes on for the 2026 season.
