90-year-old Wexford man completes Skydive for charity

A 90-year old Wexford man has completed a skydive for charity…

Wexford man and local of Clonroche, Eamonn Kehoe, completed his skydive for charity on August 17th 2025 to mark the milestone of his 90th birthday.

Kehoe was raising money for the Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation, a cause close to his heart. In total, Eamonn raised over €28,000 for the charity.

Speaking about the experience to South East Radio, Kehoe said:

“When I jumped out first it was awful. But when I got down a bit and I was gliding, it was okay then. The first bit was the worst, when you jump out. I didn’t like it at first – but sure it was my idea. I was looking at television about 6 months ago and I seen a 90 year old woman doing it, then I said to myself ‘if she’s able to do it, then i’ll be able to do it’,” he said.

Jack and Jill is a nationwide charity that funds and provides up to 100 hours per month of in-home nursing care and respite support to families caring for children, up to the age of six, with severe learning disability often associated with complex medical needs.

Speaking about why Jack & Jill is close to his heart, Kehoe said:

“Jack & Jill have supported my granddaughter Aisling since she was a baby, and they’ve made a huge difference in her life. We are forever grateful for the care and support they gave our family. This skydive is my way of giving back. At 90, I feel full of life, and I want to use that energy to help other children and families who need the same kind of support we were lucky to receive,” Eamonn said.

Those interested in learning more or supporting can still donate via the iDonate platform.
