Well-known business on Gorey’s Main Street to close down

A well-known business located on Gorey’s main street is set to close down…

Cillian Byrne – who ran as an Independent in the June 2024 local elections is also the owner of Fixcraft. On Monday, 22 Septmber 2025, Cillian announced via the Fixcraft Facebook page that he will be closing the doors of the well-known Gorey town business for good.

FixCraft.ie is a trusted tech repair and retail business based in Gorey, specialising in professional, fast, and reliable device repairs. They serviced a wide range of electronics including smartphones, tablets, laptops, PCs, Macs, and gaming consoles, covering everything from cracked screens and battery replacements to charging port issues and water damage.

As an Apple Independent Repair Provider, FixCraft.ie used genuine Apple parts and certified expertise for out-of-warranty Apple devices, giving customers peace of mind and quality assurance.

“We’re actually closing the doors — for good. This has been one of the hardest, most honest decisions I’ve ever made — and one I’ve needed to make for a while. Financial pressure and mental health have finally caught up with me, and it’s time to put myself first. FixCraft will close at the end of October. Between now and then, everything is on sale, and we’re still doing repairs with full support until the last day.Thank you to everyone who supported us. You made this place matter. Now it’s time to let go,” he said.

Cillian also noted that it’s time to grab a bargain with the shop having 50% off of many products within their store.

Fixcraft will close their business doors for good on October 11th at 5pm. They were incorporated as Phone Fix Craft Limited on 17 September 2018, being in business for 7 years – and opening their Gorey-based business on the Main Street just two years ago.
