Status Orange weather warning issued for Wexford

Met Éireann has issued a Status Orange rain warning for Wexford, along with Dublin and Wicklow, as significant rainfall accumulations are expected over the coming days.

The warning, which comes into effect from 2:00pm on Friday, November 14th, will remain in place until 11:00am on Saturday, November 15th.

According to Met Éireann, heavy and persistent rain is expected, particularly affecting high ground and exposed areas. The forecaster has warned that significant flooding is possible, while travelling conditions may become hazardous as a result of the severe weather.

The Status Orange warning is the second-highest alert level issued by Met Éireann and indicates the potential for dangerous and disruptive conditions. Localised flooding, road closures, and delays to travel are all possible.

The alert was issued at 9:20am on Thursday, November 13th, and both Wexford County Council and emergency services are expected to closely monitor conditions throughout the warning period.

Residents, particularly those in flood-prone or low-lying areas, are being urged to stay informed and take extra precautions as the heavy rain approaches.
