The 2026 Irish Restaurant Awards were held last night…
Last night, held at the Killashee Hotel in County Kildare, awards were given on a county-by-county basis in various different categories across the Leinster region.
One category which always attracts a lot of local attention is the ‘Best Pub’ category. The winner of Wexford’s best pub was Mackens – The Cape Bar, also known as the Undertaker from people outside of Wexford town itself.
Mackens is a historic and characterful traditional Irish pub located in the heart of Wexford Town at the iconic Bull Ring.
Renowned for its warm, welcoming atmosphere, great craic, friendly staff, and excellent pints (especially Guinness), it’s a beloved local spot for both locals and visitors.
