A popular cafe in County Wexford has reopened…
A popular spot, which operated for 10 years, closed permanently after a devastating fire in February 2025 caused extensive damage to the premises.
The former The Wilds Cafe at 23 Weafer Street in Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford — previously owned by Simon Nelson and Paula Asple — has reopened under new ownership.
But, the well-known and popular spot in Enniscorthy has a new chapter to look forward to, providing a boost to the town.
Both Dominic Saville and Marcin Grochot have taken on the building people know well and brought it back into use as newly-named ‘The Barn Cafe’.
The new owners come from years in hospitality and it shows where it matters. The menu is straightforward — breakfasts, pancakes, sandwiches, all day — with a strong focus on local produce.
It is a big, bright space that now feels right again. Parking out the back makes it easy in and out. There is already a plan in place for an ice cream offering in the summer, with the aim of making this a regular spot for locals.
The Barn Cafe opened its doors on 19 March 2026 at the same prime town-centre location on Weafer Street, and early visitors have already been praising the welcoming vibe, quality food and easy access.
With its fresh approach and community focus, The Barn Cafe looks set to become a new favourite in Enniscorthy — proving that even after a tough chapter, this much-loved building is ready for its next successful chapter.
