A County Wexford restaurant has been added to the presitguos Michelin Guide…
New Ross restaurant Bearú has been added to the prestigious MICHELIN Guide, making it just the fourth restaurant in County Wexford to feature in the guide.
Bearú joins Aldridge Lodge in Duncannon, The Duck Restaurant at Marlfield House in Gorey, and Table Forty One in Gorey on the Michelin list.
Located on South Street in New Ross, Bearú is an award-winning restaurant and café which places a strong emphasis on seasonal, local and wild foods. The business combines a daytime café with a contemporary restaurant in the evenings, serving speciality coffee, artisanal bakes and hot breakfasts in the morning, followed by gourmet sandwiches, seasonal salads and soup at lunchtime.
Then, on Friday and Saturday evenings, the focus switches to contemporary dining, with Michelin inspectors praising the quality of the ingredients and dishes that “burst with flavour”.
Bearú is proudly run by chef and co-owner Dave Rowley and has already built an impressive reputation, having won Best Newcomer – Leinster and All Ireland at the Irish Restaurant Awards in 2025, as well as Best Casual Dining Leinster at the Food & Wine Restaurant of the Year Awards in 2024 and 2025. The restaurant also won Best Contemporary Irish Cuisine – Leinster at the 2026 Irish Restaurant Awards.
The Michelin recognition is a significant achievement for the New Ross business, although it is worth noting that being added to the Michelin Guide does not mean Bearú has received a Michelin Star or Bib Gourmand. Those distinctions are awarded separately.
Michelin’s latest update nevertheless places Bearú among a select group of recommended restaurants in Ireland.
