The Coronavirus has changed a lot of our plans..
The GAA’s plans have changed too. The Allianz League couldn’t be finished, the All-Ireland Championships have been postponed until at least October, and there hasn’t even been a training to attend.
The GAA’s president, John Horan, recently stated that club action will return before inter-county and that there will be a focus on that, when the time is right.
These are certainly unprecedented times.
Wexford GAA have now proposed a new championship format. Due to the time constraints, Wexford GAA have proposed a new four-group format, with three teams in each group.
These new formats will be applied to all adults groups, from Senior to the Junior grades. The new formats will also be used for both hurling and football.
It is envisaged that there will be, at least, a two-week training period before the championship commences.
