Wexford Boxer Dean Walsh Pulls Off Shock And Is Through To National Elite Finals

A Wexford boxer pulled of a shock at the National Stadium in Dublin last night…

Wexford boxer, Dean Walsh, defeated Olympic medallist Aidan Walsh with a 3-2 split decision win on the judge’s scorecards.

Dean Walsh of St Ibars/St Josephs Boxing Club in Wexford was boxing in the light middleweight 71kg semi-final.

In the final, which will also take place at the National Stadium, Dean Walsh will be taking on Jon McConnell of Holy Trinity Boxing Club, with the fight likely to get underway at approximately 8:40pm.

Wexford man Walsh will be hoping to claim his fifth national elite title with a win this evening.
