Wexford’s Lee Chin Likely To Miss Rest Of League Campaign Following Injury

The Wexford Senior hurlers defeated Westmeath in Mullingar last weekend…

Although the win was a positive after an opening round loss to Galway in Wexford Park, Wexford fans were somewhat concerned following the substitution of Wexford captain, Lee Chin.

The Faythe Harriers club man was substituted at half-time of the Westmeath game after he picked up a hamstring injury.

Speaking to RTE after the game, manager Darragh Egan noted the extent of his injury.

“He’s good. The hamstring is just a bit tight on him and we’re just monitoring him now over the next few weeks and making sure he’s fresh and ready for the championship. That’s what we’re aiming for.”

The fact that Egan stated that the aim is that he will be right for Championship suggests that he may not opt to use him again in the League campaign, perhaps just as a precautionary measure too.

Chin will be a loss for the Model County as their League campaign progresses, especially with some tough matches coming up.

Wexford’s opening Leinster Championship game will be against Galway on April 22nd.
