Wexford football star Ben Brosnan applies for transfer to new club

There’s big news coming out of North Wexford this morning…

Long-serving Wexford inter-county star, Ben Brosnan, has applied for a new club transfer.

In 2017, Ben Brosnan transferred from his native Bannow-Ballymitty to North Wexford Senior football club, Castletown/Liam Mellows.

It has emerged this morning, however, that 36-year-old Brosnan has put in a transfer request to join Carnew Emmets for the next season.

Brosnan is currently residing on the border of Carnew town.

It has been reported by the Wicklow People that this will not impact his Wexford inter-county career. Brosnan has been named on today’s panel to play Wicklow in the O’Byrne Cup clash and a club transfer move would not impact this whatsoever.

Castletown’s loss will certainly be Carnew’s gain, as the Wexford sharp-shooter still has a lot to offer. It’ll be tough to take for Castleown, especially given the fact that their other inside forward Robbie Brookes has opted to travel for the season too.
