Fire takes place at popular premises in Wexford village

A fire broke out at a popular Wexford premises over the Bank Holiday weekend…

A fire broke out in Jack’s Tavern in Camolin on Monday afternoon.

The fire impacted their new ‘beer garden’ and cocktail bar at the rear of the property. Their new outdoor area was only opened in 2021 and in recent times, it has become a hive for live music and entertainment.

It is believed that an explosion took place at the rear of the property following a fault with some electrics

The emergency services, which included four fire brigades, attended the property in a bid to bring the fire under control.

Despite the damage to the property, the owners of Jack’s Tavern – both Jack and Hilda, have expressed their gratitude with the fact that nobody was hurt or injured as a result.

“Hi all, thanks for all your kind messages, nobody hurt is the main thing! Looking forward to welcoming you all back soon,” they said.
