Popular Wexford singer, Aaron Berry, has been playing music for over 25 years, and he will release a new album soon, in the middle of May 2024.

Only yesterday, Aaron Berry gave us a taste of what his new music will be like. And if the rest of the album is anything like ‘Time’, well, it’s safe to say that it’s going to be a good one.

After a discussion with Aaron, it’s clear that his taste in music is plentiful and he has an array of inspirations when it comes to music.

“I grew up listening to all my Mam and Dad’s old records such as The Pogues, Thin Lizzy, Brian Adams, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan. Then, I discovered Bob Marley. So from an early age of fourteen, Bob Marley was all I listened to for a good few years. Then, I hit the angry teenage spell and I listened to a lot of Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins and Grunge. I have had a vast array of inspirations. My cousin Peter is a gifted musician and seeing him play made me want to learn also,” he told Wexford Weekly.

With 25 years of experience playing across Wexford, his name has become commonplace across the Wexford music scene. Playing for a quarter of a century, he wanted to mark the occasion:

“I have been playing on bands and as a solo artist in Wexford for 25 years this year. So I wanted to celebrate and mark that achievement with an acoustic album. I’ve been song writing for the same amount of time, so I have gathered a lot of original songs over the years. I have my single out now called ‘Time’,” he said.

Aaron said that “the first half of the album is out next week (Mid May) on Spotify and all other streaming platforms.

“The album is also called Time and it will showcase a variety of my songs throughout the years with some brand new songs on there too,” he said.

For someone with a vast array of music taste, one must question what will his album consist of. And given his taste, it’s no surprise that his new album ‘Time’ will have something for everyone.

“It’s an acoustic pop/rock/folk album driven by catchy melodies and simplistic yet hard hitting, meaningful lyrics. A lot of people say my songs are very catchy and they get stuck in people’s heads easily, that’s a good thing if you ask me,” he laughed.
