Ed Rowsome shares his prediction for the upcoming Wexford and Kilkenny match

The Wexford Senior hurlers will be out in action against Kilkenny…

It has all the makings of an enthralling encounter. Wexford are coming in on the back of two good results; in their previous games, they defeated Galway and then connivingly defeated Carlow by 26 points in Dr Cullen Park.

Next up for Wexford is an away trip to Nowlan Park in Kilkenny, which is now essentially a de-facto Leinster semi-final for both sides.

Building anticipation for the match, both Declan ‘Skippy’ Ruth and Ed Rowsome were the most recent guests on The Wexford Hurling Podcast.

As expected, there’s a lot of talk ahead of the game and Ed Rowsome – considered to be one of the most knowledgeable men in Wexford GAA circles – has shared his prediction too.

“Oh, Wexford all the way. I’m not over-confident, but I am very confident that they’re going to perform. As I said, we need to hurl for the full seventy minutes. I think our three or four key forwards, with Cian Byrne back from suspension – will be a huge boost for Wexford. I think Wexford will shade it. You’ll get nothing easy up in Kilkenny. There will be a score in it. There’ll be a puck of the ball in it by the end of the game,” Rowsome said.

Kilkenny host Wexford in Nowlan Park this Sunday. To find out more information about the Kilkenny and Wexford game including ticket details, team news, betting odds and more, you can check out our previous article here.
