The best pints of Guinness across all of Wexford for 2024

Sometimes it can be hard to find the perfect pint…

As part of the Wexford Weekly “Wexford’s Best” campaign for 2024, we decided to put the question to our followers on social media. 258 people voted in the online public poll, giving their expert view on where to find Wexford’s best Guinness.

A public poll was created via our Facebook page on July 3rd 2024 and ran until July 14th 2024. This topic was proudly sponsored by Dempsey’s The Street. Based in Monamolin, they are a pub and grocery store all in one. More recently, they were voted as the third best pub in all of Wexford.

Without further ado, here’s where you can get the best Guinness in Wexford for 2024.

6) Breen’s Bar, Gorey

Nestled down a side street and directly across from the Gorey Little Theatre, this is the hidden gem of Gorey. Not only do they have live music on most nights and entertainment such as darts events, pool tournaments, family discos, and B2B events in their upstairs music venue, they are also an establishment in the town where you can get an excellent pint of Guinness. When in Gorey, it’s hard to beat sitting up at the counter and having a chat with both the barmen and the local customers while sipping on a few pints of Guinness.

5) Swan Bar

The Swan has something for everyone. Live music, events, a solid beer garden. One thing that a lot of people like, especially around Christmas time, is sitting next to their open fire and drinking a pint of Guinness. They continue to do well in our online polls, which says a lot about their business.

4) Dempsey’s The Street, Monamolin

Dempsey’s The Street is based in the small village of Monamolin. As with a lot of small villages, they have perfected the craft of pulling the perfect pint of Guinness. It’s the perfect place in the country to sneak away to, to enjoy a few pints of Guinness and to watch some live sports on their multiple tv screens or even test your luck at skittles, which is very popular just outside of this premises on the corner.

3) Micko’s Bar, Taghmon

Micko’s Bar is located in South Wexford in Taghmon. Similar to their other counterparts on this list, they have become a haven for not only live entertainment and events, but also for pulling a perfect pint of Guinness. When you’re in Taghmon, you must make a stop here. Have a chat with the locals, play some darts, and enjoy a pint of cream.

2) The Pike Bar, Wexford

The Pike Bar in Wexford town is a pub that often gets notoriety for their Guinness. Back in 2022, the self-proclaimed Guinness Guru voted the Pike Bar as the best place in Wexford town to get a pint of Guinness. To be fair, he wasn’t far wrong either. This establishment is a small, close-knit establishment with live sport and good craic on the daily. But having live sport and engaging in conversation is one thing; being able to pull the perfect pint is another. It’s the perfect blend here, so make sure to pop in when you’re in Wexford town.

1) The White House Bar, Enniscorthy

The White House Bar strolled home to victory in this public poll. Out of the 258 online votes, The White House claimed 104 of the votes, just over 40% of the total votes. It also says a lot about their customer base who were willing to vote for them not just here, but in the Wexford’s best overall pub too where they were also crowned the number one spot, claiming a historic double in 2024. Under new ownership, they seem to be doing everything right. The stats don’t lie and it’s easy to spell it out. If you want to enjoy Wexford’s best Guinness in Wexford’s best pub for 2024, then you have to go to The White House Bar in Enniscorthy.
