
Rathnure are into a Leinster final…
The Wexford Intermediate club champions defeated Bray Emmets of Wicklow on Sunday afternoon in Wicklow.
Rathnure St Annes won on a score-line of 1-21 to 2-14, with a four point margin over the Wicklow kingpins who have won 6-in-a-row of Wicklow Senior Hurling titles.
Rathnure’s win against Bray Emmets has placed them into a Leinster final.
They will be taking on the Kilkenny champions, Lisdowney, in the Leinster Intermediate Club hurling final.
As per the confirmed fixture list on Leinster GAA, the final will take place on Sunday, December 1st 2024. Throw in has been confirmed for 1:30pm at Chadwicks Wexford Park.
With the two teams now confirmed, the venue will be confirmed in the coming days.
It’s exciting times for the parish of Rathnure. After Sunday’s match, they’ll definitely fancy their chances of getting their hands on silverware, especially now with the Wexford side having a home venue for the final.
In related club hurling news, Castletown-Liam Mellows comprehensively won their Junior Club championship match against Wolfe Tones of Longford, winning on a score-line of 6-28 to 0-06. Castletown will now enter the semi-final stages of the competition where they will take on Louth champions, St Fechins. A win against the Louth champions would set up a Leinster Junior Hurling final against Kilkenny champions, St Lachtains.
Lastly, St Martins will battled it out against Dublin champions, Na Fianna on Sunday in the Leinster Senior Hurling Club championship, but they came up short – losing the game by four points on a score-line of 1-15 to 0-14.
