One would have to wonder how some can stoop so low…
An Garda Síochána in Wexford are now on the look out for people with insight about a ring buoy, a piece of life-saving equipment. The ring buoy was damaged from along the Promenade in the Enniscorthy area.
Gardaí in Enniscorthy released a statement on Wednesday:
“Gardaí are seeking information regarding the intentional damage to four pieces of lifesaving equipment at the Promenade in Enniscorthy, which was reported yesterday, 18th of February.”
“Interference, damage or theft of a ring buoy or other lifesaving equipment is a criminal offence. It also hampers the rescue of someone who enters the water,” they said.
It’s not the first time that someone has committed such an act either. In December of last year, a kayak was stolen from the premises of the Slaney Search & Rescue team. In 2020, CrimeCall investigated a matter which saw a person needlessly throw a ring buoy into the river on while walking across the Wexford Bridge.
Anyone who may have witnessed or who has images of those involved, is asked to contact Enniscorthy Garda Station on 053 924 2580.
