Wexford’s Loftus Hall has been placed up for sale again…
The historic Loftus Hall was bought by a group called Oakmount, under Paddy McKillen Jr and Matt Ryan, back in 2022.
As per The Irish Times article, the new owners planned to turn Loftus Hall into a “luxury destination hotel.”
It was reported in 2022 that these owners planned to invest heavily into Loftus Hall, with an approximately €7m investment over the next six years.
However, it appears that those plans are no longer in place, despite already investing €2 million into the property.
The owners have since placed the historic Wexford Loftus Hall up for sale and on the market again.
Loftus Hall, located near Hook Head and the world’s oldest operating lighthouse, Hook Lighthouse, has been on the market multiple times before too.
Oakmount, under Paddy McKillen Jr and Matt Ryan, took it over from Shane and Aidan Quigley, who sold the property in 2021.
It has 22 bedrooms and has played host to a number of film crews attracted by its spooky setting and legendary ghost stories.
The house’s history dates back to when the Normans landed in 1170, at which time a castle was built in the area.
In 1350, the first hall was built — known as Redmond Hall. In 1666, it was passed from the Redmond family to the Loftus family, and they remained the owners until the early 20th century.
Up until 2022, Loftus Hall attracted paid guests via tours who were seeking to explore the paranormal activities such as demons, ghosts, and scary noises associated with the house.
