We’re now into the quarter-final stages of the Wexford Senior hurling championship for 2025…
Interestingly, the three teams that the bookies viewed as ‘least favourites’ to capture the trophy for 2025 have all made it through to the quarter-final stages. (Rathnure, Glynn-Barntown, Oulart-The Ballagh).
The biggest mover in the betting is Rathnure, who were priced at 40/1 ahead of the Championship for 2025 and are now second favourites, priced at 4/1, having won all their matches in the group stages.
Naomh Eanna were second favourites ahead of the Championship, but they’re now 6/1 after a rocky start to their campaign in the group stages. However, their dominant victory against the Rapparees in the preliminary quarter-final stages shows that they have the ability within their ranks to pose a challenge and that they could be peaking at the right time.
The bookies such as PaddyPower, Boyles, and Betfair are not looking past St Martins though. And after claiming the title last year, and winning all their games in the group stages, their movement into almost-even money is warranted from a bookmaker’s perspective with just eight teams remaining in the championship.
