Met Eireann has issued another rain warning for County Wexford…
Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow rain warning for Wexford, with further rainfall expected to impact already saturated ground.
The warning comes just days after Wexford – and specifically Enniscorthy – was heavily impacted heavily by Storm Chandra.
The Status Yellow warning is valid from 3am on Thursday, February 5, until 3am on Friday, February 6. Met Éireann says the combination of persistent rain, high river levels and high tides could lead to localised flooding, river flooding, and difficult travel conditions.
Wexford is among several counties affected, including Carlow, Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Louth, Monaghan and Tipperary.
Two of Wexford’s neighbouring counties – both Wicklow and Waterford – have been issued a Status Orange warning at the time of writing.
Members of the public are being advised to take care, particularly when travelling, and to be alert for flooding in low-lying and flood-prone areas.
