New chapter for three well-known bookshops in County Wexford

Three well-known bookshops in County Wexford are turning a new page…

Three popular stores across County Wexford are preparing for a major new chapter as the Easons branches in Wexford town, Enniscorthy and Gorey are set to officially rebrand to Byrnes.

The move sees the long-established family business expand its local identity across the county, with the Byrne’s name already deeply familiar to generations of Wexford shoppers.

Byrnes opened the business first opened in Enniscorthy in 1976 and has grown into a well-known destination for books, stationery, gifts, toys and office supplies across the southeast.

Speaking in a video shared online, Damian Byrne described the rebrand as “an proud day” for the family business and said the company was “bringing everything together under the Byrne’s name.” He also spoke about the strong history attached to the Byrne’s brand in Wexford, saying the business has been part of the community for decades.

Signs have been placed up in the shopfront saying “something new is coming” while the painting, decorating and interior rebranding is almoost complete.

The three stores — located in Wexford town, Enniscorthy and Gorey — will now operate under the Byrne’s branding, marking the end of the Easons name at the locations, which was previously in operation under a franchise at the three County Wexford locations.

To celebrate the launch, Byrne’s will host a family fun day this Saturday, with facepainting, baloons, and other in-store entertainment planned for customers.

The celebrations are expected to take place across the newly rebranded stores as the business marks the latest milestone in its nearly 50-year history.
